YELLOWMAN

Mengesha directed the Canadian premiere of the Pulitzer Prize nominated play Yellowman by Dael Orlandersmith.  Yellowman is a work of staggering truth about internal racism: the fractured divisions that occur between people based on the shade of their skin.  It is a love story and a tale about families and the damage they inflict upon each other.

“[Mengesha] has done a triumphant job...Yellowman is a co-production by Nightwood and Obsidian, and it’s the best thing I’ve seen from either company. Unbelievable.”
